Fresh off the back of a successful inaugural CHALLENGECAPETOWN on 10 November, the event has been nominated for two CHALLENGEFAMILY Awards:
- Best New Race (category 8)
- Most Eco-Friendly Race (category 10)
Voting is open until midnight on 8 December, the winner is decided by popular vote, and the winners will be announced on 17 December.

BACKGROUND
CHALLENGEFAMILY is launching the CHALLENGEFAMILY Awards for the first time in its history to reward the race organisers, volunteers and all people which put on incredible CHALLENGEFAMILY races around the globe year after year. Starting on this Friday, November 15 at 20:00 CET, you can vote for your favourite race until December 8 (23:59 CET) and the winners will be announced on December 17.
“As CHALLENGEFAMILY we highly value the voice of the athlete. After every race we send out a survey to learn what is good and what could be done better. This questionnaire is an important instrument for our race directors to keep improving the race experience and the service level from year to year. So we invented the CHALLENGEFAMILY Awards to give a bigger vote to the athletes and bringing our slogan #allabouttheathlete to life,” Jort Vlam explains on behalf of CHALLENGEFAMILY. “On top of that, it’s a great way to reward the organising teams of the best races for their efforts in delivering excellence. And last but not least the Awards will stimulate all our race directors to grow in their job to offer the best possible race experience.”

The Voting Procedure Setup: The highest scores of the Athletes Surveys resulted in four nominated races per category. Based on the nominations athletes and fans can vote for their favorite race online on www.challenge-family.com/awards. Besides choosing between nominated races in each category, people can vote for the Challenge Family Race of the Year. All winners will be announced on December 17th in Daytona Beach.
