Challenge Cape Town is the first and only CHALLENGEFAMILY event on the African continent. The middle distance event (1.9km swim, 90km cycle, 21.1km run) offers a cold water swim, flat and fast route, and an undulating run – all in full view and against the backdrop of the iconic Table Mountain, the 8th natural wonder of the world.

The CHALLENGEFAMILY series of triathlons features more than 40 full and half distance races in 26 countries around the world, including the world’s largest long distance triathlon – CHALLENGEROTH in Germany. Since 2002, races throughout Europe, Australasia, Asia, North America, South America – and now also Africa – have joined the CHALLENGEFAMILY. Together they provide athletes with a new experience of long distance racing with a strong focus on athlete and spectator experience, giving back to the community while respecting the legacy of sport and being committed to its continued growth.
